WHAT WE DO
Our racing team is active in the Pro Modified class with the 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird. This class is known for the cars, looking like normal cars with doors, the so-called doorslammers. These cars reach top speeds of more than 240 miles per hour in 5.9 seconds at the 402 meter (a quartermile). Our Superbird is equipped with a 526 blown Hemi and makes 3100 hp. The first year (2016) we drove in the FIA Pro Modified championship, we finished 8th out of the 33 drivers. The best time we drove that season was 6.12 seconds with a speed of 231 miles per hour. This was at the Hockenheim Nitrolympics 2016, during the final.
Our goal for 2017 was to drive a 5’ second run. The FIA European Championship holds a series of competitions in which all the top classes of the drag racing sport participate. This championship is held in a number of countries in Europe, including England, Germany, Finland and Sweden. This year, we will be driving 3 FIA races: 2 in England at Santa Pod and 1 in Germany at Hockenheim. We also drive 4 races for the MSA, the English competition at Santa Pod. The racing season starts in April and ends in September. In 2019, we did the full MSA UK National Championship and became the class champion. During this year, our fastest time was a 5.95 . Our goals for 2020 are to drive the full FIA European championship and try to get even better results, with the knowledge we’ve gained over last years. The Superbird is a real eye-catcher on the racing track, just like the crew. Along the side of the track are the many photographers and journalists for the national and international media. The competitions are broadcast on TV in England and Germany. These broadcasts can also be viewed worldwide via a live stream.

DONATIONS AFTER THE CRASH IN 2018
After the crash in 2018 we made a crowdfund page, we were overwhelmed with the support and benefits we got from there. With all the help and gifts from all over the world we could do what we love to do, dragracing. We worked very hard in the winter of 2019 to get the car race ready again so we could start in the end of march during the Festival of Power at Santa Pod raceway. From then on we struggled with some issues but we never gave up and the rest is history. We did not let you down and became the UK Motorsports Pro Modified Champion 2019. Thank you all so much again to make this happen and we will see you at the track in 2020!!

WHAT IS DRAGRACING
Drag racing is a type of motor racing in which automobiles or motorcycles (usually specially prepared for the purpose) compete, usually two at a time, to be first to cross a set finish line. The race follows a short, straight course from a standing start over a measured distance, most commonly 1⁄4 mi (1,320 ft; 402 m), with a shorter (1,000 ft (305 m)) becoming increasingly popular, as it has become the standard for Top Fuel dragsters and funny cars, where some major bracket races and other sanctioning bodies have adopted it as the standard, while the 1⁄8 mi (660 ft; 201 m) is also popular in some circles. Electronic timing and speed sensing systems have been used to record race results since the 1960s.

Wat is Dragracing?
Dragracing is de meest elementaire en tevens snelste tak van de autosport. De officiële definitie luidt: ‘Een acceleratie-wedstrijd vanuit een staande start tussen twee voertuigen over een recht stuk weg over een tevoren bepaalde afstand (meestal ¼ mijl, 402 meter) en degene die als eerste de finishlijn passeert is de winnaar.’
Om de strijd zo gelijkwaardig mogelijk te houden zijn de auto’s ingedeeld in diverse klassen met eigen bepalingen met betrekking tot gewicht, brandstof, uiterlijke vormen, motorinhoud etc. Deze klassen variëren van bijna standaard oplopend in vermogen, snelheid en kosten tot de meest extreme vorm van dragracen Top Fuel.
INDEX
Om de kosten binnen de perken te houden en te voorkomen dat de deelnemer met het snelste (lees duurste) materiaal altijd wint, zijn er in het dragracen index en bracket klassen in het leven geroepen. Index klassen (Super Street, Super Gas, Super Comp) rijden met een vaste index. In een bracket klasse (Sportsman ET, Pro ET, Super Pro ET) stelt iedere rijder individueel zijn eigen index vast. Rijdt een deelnemer onder de index dan is zijn tijd ongeldig (kwalificatie) of verliest zijn run (eliminaties). Het is de kunst om zo dicht mogelijk boven de indexgrens te rijden. Deze klassen vindt men vooral terug in de nationale kampioenschappen.
HOOGSTE KLASSEN
De belangrijkste klassen waarvoor een officieel FIA Europees Kampioenschap wordt gehouden zijn, Top Fuel, Top Methanol Dragster, Top Methanol Funny Car, Pro Stock en Pro Modified. Het belangrijkste kampioenschap in Amerika is de NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series. Hierin wordt gestreden in de klassen Top Fuel, Funny Car en Pro Stock.
